SCOUTS AND GUIDES

Scouting is an approved type of character training and a preparation of good citizenship, designed for the benefit of boys and girls. It implies on attractive type of outdoor life coupled with activities which promote development of character, encourage formation of health habits, impart skills useful in everyday life and prepare the individual for service to society and fellow men. It is a kind of training which instills a sense of responsibility and trust worthiness, affords to the individual opportunities for developing initiative and leadership and promotes self-control, self-reliance and self-direction. Scouts and Guides classes started in St.John’s School in the year 1990, with 20 children. But now the strength has gone above 300. Cubs and Bulbuls classes are conducted every Friday and scouts and guides classes every Saturday.

St.John’s High School has the NCC Air Wing since 1947. Our troop no. is 03 which come under 2 Karnataka Air Sqn (T) NCC of ‘B’ group headquarters, Karnataka and Goa directorate. We at present have 50 cadets of junior division. Group captain M.Murugan is our unit commanding officer. He visits our cadets often to encourage them to join the Indian Defense. The ANO conducts parades every Tuesdays and Fridays. Our troop participates in various competitions, social service camps, rallies about environmental awareness and CATC 9Combined Annual Training Camp)

Troop No. 3 in-charge is Mrs.Amala Kumari .A Associate NCC officer of St.John’s High School.
